Applying for NZ Superannuation

NZ Superannuation is a universal payment for NZ citizens and residents who are 65 or older.

Note: You need to apply for NZ Super. You do not automatically get it once you turn 65.

New residence criteria from July 2024

The number of years you must have lived in NZ since you turned 20 will gradually increase from 10 years to 20 years.
